What is Core Web Vitals (page speed)

What it is

Three Google measurements of how a page feels: how fast the main content appears, how fast the page responds to a tap, and whether the layout jumps while loading. A slow, jumpy page loses both visitors and rankings.

How we use it

We build it in from the start: the page arrives from the server ready, images have set sizes so the layout does not jump, heavy images load as you scroll, and the server converts product photos to the light webp format.

Where it helps a business

  • Customers come from phones, often on slow mobile internet.
  • The site is used in advertising: every second of loading means visitors you already paid for leave.
  • The site is promoted in search: speed is part of Google's page assessment.

How we use it

  • The page arrives ready. The online store storefront is rendered on the server (SSR), so the main content shows at once.
  • No layout jumps. Images have set sizes, so text does not move while they load.
  • Heavy content later. Screenshots in cases on the studio site load as you scroll.
  • Light photos. The store server shrinks phone photos and converts them to webp.

Common problems

  • Huge phone photos. One 5 MB image cancels all the other work.
  • A dozen third-party scripts. Chats, counters and widgets load before the content.
  • Tested only on a desktop. Google assesses the mobile version first.

When you do not need it

Closed panels and internal services do not need high scores as such. But a slow page annoys staff every day there too.
