What it is
The basic technologies of any web page: HTML is the structure, CSS the styling, JavaScript the interactivity.
How we apply it
For landing pages and small business sites without a CMS โ when load speed matters most and there is no need for an admin panel to edit content regularly.
Where it helps a business
- You need a single page, such as a specialist's business card or a landing page, and it must open instantly on a phone.
- A demo or a guide must open on any web server without installing dependencies.
- The page should live for years without framework updates.
How we use it
- A business card. Valery Afanasiev's site is one page with no framework and no build step: a 3D scanner on canvas, an FAQ on
<details> with no JavaScript, its own fonts. Without the script the page stays static and readable. - A demo stand. Three museum complex sites share a core of 2,081 lines: the grid, header, forms, cookie notice and accessibility are written once, and the differences live in variables and data.
- Guides. The five VPN setup pages are each a single HTML file with embedded styles and scripts.
- A greeting card. The card page in UNLOCK is one static HTML file; when the service is down it opens on values baked into the file.
Common problems
- Animations load the phone. On the business card every animation except the scanner uses only transform and opacity, and the reduced-motion setting turns them off.
- Copy-paste between pages. In the guides, styles and scripts are duplicated in five files with no shared template yet, so an edit means touching every file.
When you do not need it
If there are many pages, two languages, or the owner edits content themselves, you need Nuxt or a CMS: maintaining dozens of HTML files by hand is awkward.
