What is TypeScript

What it is

JavaScript with strict types: errors show up at build time, not in a visitor's browser. The standard for Nuxt and Vue sites.

How we use it

The studio site and the online store are written in it: types check that a product or case card is filled in correctly before the deploy.

Where it helps a business

  • The site grows, pages and fields multiply, and a typo in one place must not break a page for a visitor.
  • Several people or rounds of edits work on the project, and the code itself should tell you what is expected.

How we use it

The studio website is written in Nuxt 4 and TypeScript. The content structure is described by a Zod schema and checked at startup: a case must have a subtitle, an emoji and a direction, and its status is picked from a list. So an unfilled case card or a typo in a field is caught before deploy, not on the live site.

Common problems

  • Types do not replace tests. They catch "wrong field", not "wrong logic".
  • Types that get bypassed. If "any type" is used everywhere, nothing useful is left.

When you do not need it

For a single page in plain JavaScript with no build step, such as a business card or a guide, TypeScript is overkill.
